UNIVERSAL DIDI, ICON OF BREVITY

“Life is all about challenges, struggle, fights, and ups and down. Be a part of it and conquer the world. Don’t give up. One day you will hear the triumph of glory” -Mamata Bannerjee (DIDI)

From street fighter to a change agent and now an iconic hero. Breaking all the clutters, barriers, humiliations, demolitions she is now the name of change. A simple girl with extraordinary dreams has now become the eye ball of every people. Her dedication, commitment, passion and her daring spirit and courage proved her today.
She has not only turned into an iconic leader but also became a legend in the gharana of politics. Not just an iconic figure but an inspirational and motivating stature.

Her voyage towards the path of achievement was never smooth and easy. She had to face lots of hardships and difficulties. She went through lots of pains, sorrows and humiliations went through tough phases and hardships. But she didn’t give up. Her journey to become a leader was really painful and full of fight and struggle. It was She who resisted all these clutters single handedly being a woman and now called as icon of resistance.

January 5, 1995 iconic legend Mamata Bannerjee was born in a mediocre family. At the age of 17 she lost her father. Then she joined jogomaya devi college and became a member of chatra parishad. She was then elected as general secretary of the state mahila congress in 1976 and remained so till 1960.

In 1984 she creates a sensation by beating veteran CPM leader Somnath Chatterjee in Jadavpur to become one of India’s youngest parliamentarians. After that she was elected as general secretary of all India youth congress. With a short span of time she was under the eyes of all veteran political figures. Her contributions towards politics were noticeable. At a very little age she got a good hold of position in the field of politics. Being a woman such a strong protest towards the ex-regime created a sensation. By defeating oppositions parties she started to win many elections.
In august 1990, she sustained life threatening head injuries after CPM supporter (badsaha alam’s brother lalu) beat her up at hazra crossing. Her skull had been fragmented.

The events of august 16 metamorphosed Mamta’s life. She emerged much more mature. She became an icon of resistance to CPM’s strong tactics. The injury was so deep that it could have affected her brain and made her mentally unstable. But it made her determination to fight against CPM even fierce. The attack makes her the rallying point for all anti CPM forces
In 1991 under the regime of Narshima Rao she joined the union cabinet as MOS for human recourses development, youth affairs and women and child development:

“Where there is a will, there is a way”
Didi’s positive will power has placed the crown of glory on her head today.

July 21 1993, was a biggest challenge for Mamata Bannerjee. She lead a protest march to writers building, demanding that voter I cards be made the soul document for voting. Police resorted to lathi charge and open fire on the rally, killing 13 protesters. In collision she was also brutally beaten. This revolt heated her blood and she staged massive rallies on the anniversary of the killing ever since.
Degradation came in April 1996 where we saw revolts against corruption within congress.  Holding a rally in Kolkata where she wraps a black shawl around her neck and threatens to hang herself.
The wide spread of corruption, ignoring west Bengal in the rail way budget insisted her to resign from parliament.

December 1997 was a big day in the pages of politics after expelling from congress; she formed a new party named trinamool congress which was formally registered in 1998. She formed the party based on three principles maa, mathi, and manush.
After that she joined BJP-lead NDA government in 1999 and was given respect of railway minister.

In 2001 she quit NDA and joined hands with congress for 2001 assembly election in Bengal. But trinamool was nearly washed out in elections; she goes back to NDA and again took charge of coal and mines ministry
May-June 2004 was a year of glory of a small success for Mamata Bannerjee in her journey to become a leader. She was crowned with a respect of sole trinamool MP in lok shabha.

Didi was never laid back. Any corruption, any illegal activities she stood up with head high and protested every bit of it. November 2006 was another a challenging year of protesting corruption lead by the ex-regime. She stopped her way to singur during anti acquisition agitation; she called a 12 hour shut down of state. This was massive turning for trinamool to prove them against ex-regime of the state.

Staged 26 days hunger strike at esplanade to protest singur nano project in December 2006. Her each and every activities allure the masses. This kind of protest, this kind of fight from a woman really made left front into deep thought.

March 2007, the year to recall by the people of nandigram, the villages were devastated by the war that took place between police forces and the people of Nandigram. Police firing in nandigram, kills 14 villagers made mamta to lead rallies with the protesters. The agitations spread to others parts of the state. Prominent intellectuals came out in her support. This action really made left rattled
Through her loyalty, dedication, she has made a respectable position in the heart and soul of the masses
It was March 2008, when trinamool sweeps panchayat polls in many parts of the state, and then they created another milestone where trinamool-congress alliance sweeps 26 out of 42 seats in Lok Shaba polls. After the victory she joined as UPA government as a railway minister.

By snatching KMC and Bhidhannagar Municipality in civic election in June 2010, it proved that yes DIDI is spreading her reign in all over west Bengal. It was clearly proved that masses don’t want themselves to be bounded by the authoritative power of left front. They want that party who us for the people and by the people.

August 2010 mamta visited lalgarh, demanded withdrawal of central forces . This is seen as a move to win the Maoists support and then on March 2011 mamta announces its alliance with congress for the crucial Bengal polls election.
Finally it was on May 13 2011, where she created a history and a milestone by winning hearts of million masses. On that day demolishing the bloods of all demons she widespread the reign of greenery all over the state. She was crowned with respect t of chief minister of not only state but also chief minister of common masses.

DIDI is an iconic leader of resistance and brevity. Her firm belief and determination gave the courage to fight back, to choose the voyage of hardships. Her firm will power proved her today transforming her dreams into real pictures , leaving behind all challenges and hazards her inner strong belief  instigated or stimulated her motivation to walk ahead for accomplishment of her goal.
“Yes, DIDI… THE UNIVERSAL ICON OF BREVITY”

Media, be it print or electronic plays a very crucial role in everyone’s life. We get updated with news from every nook and corner of the world. Media can be said acts as the ‘morning cup of tea’ in our life, it educates us, creates a sense of awareness, keep us updated about the happenings in the society. All thanks to the MEDIA, especially “electronic media.”

There was a time when only one news channel used to give the reportings, but now time has changed, now a whole new range of NEWS CHANNELS have boomed up. We have huge number of news channels now. But do these channels always shows the right things? Or have they become so commercialized that they are exploiting the innocent people?

Now a days violence is being constantly depicted on news channels and this puts a negative impact on the youth, children and the society as a whole. Depiction of the truth, showing the real face of the society is not a crime, but constant depiction and without showing the vital things of the world is wrong. Research says that when people especially juvenile minds are subjected to violence scenes, they become aggressive and show signs of depression. Such (negative) things will change the scenario of our society. There would be violence all around and no tranquility. Intelligence will evaporate quicker than water; no one would be spared from the wave of the fire.

Children often see or hear the news many times a day through television, radio, newspapers, magazines and the internet. Seeing and hearing about local and world events such as natural disasters, catastrophic events, and crime reports, may cause children to experience stress, anxiety, and fears. There has also been several changes in how news is reported that have given rise to the increased potential for children to experience negative effects.

These changes include the following-

1)    Television channels and internet services and sites which report the news 24 hours a day.
2)    Television channels broadcasting live events as they are unfolding in ‘real time’.
3)    Increased reporting of the details of the private lives of public figures and role models.
4)    Pressure to get news to the public as part of the competitive nature of the entertainment industry.

For example taking a specific news program “SANSANI”, the investigation news bulletin that is aired on STAR NEWS everyday at 11pm.  It recreates the actual scene of crime vividly, wherever needed, to give the viewing audience a real taste of the crime scene. The show brings the viewers face to face with the reality of crime all over the country, keeping the society aware and on guard.

The program carries out certain sting operations, exposes against corrupt  bureaucracy, police officials and many such negative happenings in the society. It though conducts a very good duty keeping the society upgraded and well informed, but at the same time it cannot be ignored that these portrayal of negative happenings create a very disastrous impact in the human psychology, specially in children. Shifting these crime programs from prime time to late night can be good solution to some extent, rather than being completely ignored, because these programs are meant for the well being of the society so it should never be ignored.

At the same time parents should remember that it is important to talk to their children about what they have seen or heard. This allows to lessen the negative effects of the news and to discuss their own ideas and values.

It should always be noted that the negative aspect of media can never be kept in the darker side for a long time, “taking some solutions out to get a measurable amount of positive impact can make the future of the society safe and bright.”

INSPIRATION IS ENLIGHTMENT…!!!

Inspiration is around us we just need that spark to grab it and access it in a different way  which will  inspire others .

From sunrise to sunset,  from morning cup of tea the supper of  the night everything that  we come across, everything that we see, feel or hear is what we get inspired . Inspiration is a flow of life , it has no fixed definition, no philosophical statement, it depends on our psychological aspect which effect our senses and how we conceive and come out with positive response is what is called inspiration .

Different people define inspiration in different ways, it differs; how people get inspired, when do they get inspired, and why they get inspired ,  A small ant and also a human being can be the source of inspiration.  Inspiration from within, inspiration from nature, inspiration form unnatural source.... are that we get inspired of. Conceiving and grabing these inspirations, makes us think differently something out of the box  something unusual, something strange yet interesting making us unique from others, this what inspiration actually does.

INSPIRATION GIVES US NEW VISIONS, AND MAKES US UNQUE.

We survive in the world of inspiration , it is every where , from home to office and from back office to home, it is all over the places . It is there in the  subconscious but it cannot be noticed until it is trapped and ready to access . One must possess that power and spark to capture the inspiration .

Inspiration is attached with our day to day lives. It is in music , art , animals , nature, children , friends , color and texture, quotes,  etc… ,  everything and anything can be the source of inspiration, just need to have that foresight and vision to capture it , and think something out of box  which will make us unique from others .

                               “Inspiration is everywhere”

The world around us is full of inspirations in different forms- colors , designs , textures , shapes, curves, contrasts , similarities, arrangements , just capture it and access it in the form of creativity, at the end be innovative!!!.

People get inspired when they need it . But that is not the real inspiration, inspiration comes from within, Why be limited?? Open your arms widely and embrace the world of beauty, nature. Look up the skies see what it tells?? Feel it you are getting the rays of inspiration smell it, embrace it, live it ……

What you get inspired of- capture it , be different, see the world through the magnifying glass of inspiration,  think  in a different way- something out of box , something strange yet interesting and use it use it in the form of creativity .

INSPIRATION encourages the development of something new . We are often inspired because we like the character or spirit of an object , inspiration intrigues us to work in a different way . In usual terms inspiration means –

                     something different , something creative

Step out… Be unique, be inspired-

INSPIRATION = MOTIVATION = UNIQUE =APPRECIATING = CREATIVE.

YES!!  YES!!  THAT’S WHAT…..!!! BE CRAETIVE, BE INSPIRED!!!

Inspiration is what drives into innovations , it is every where , it motivates us and stimulates us to be unique , just have that foresight to get INSPIRED…

I learned… that inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor it is kinetic, it comes to us slowly and quietly all the time and therefore we must give ourselves a little chance to flow with the solitude and inspire ourselves.

THE FLIGHT TO PARADISE

During watching the movie “Freedom Writers” the most inspiring thing was that we can even smile back at violence and war and still emerge as survivors. We are always at war. Even in the advent of a new century there is war going on at some corners of the world like a lukewarm tornado. The people in the war zones are in a different place and in a different time. Gang violence breaking out in parts of Brazil and Harlem shows us that we all are struggling for survival. Even when we think we may have our life insurances made, we still are vulnerable. We are weak in the face of danger that is wielded by a seemingly unknown assailant who in fact is your next door neighbour.

What we seek to attain is ultimately what we destroy. Our decisions are judged by observation not imagination. In the dawn of extreme technological advancement I believe that only the mindset of man is the only facet which is yet to change. We are not born valedictorians who can address a whole motley crew by merely touching salient points during school. We tell our own stories, we lay out our latent fears, we try to avoid persecution and sometimes we just fail....at everything. That makes us stronger, more aware and edgier. Whenever CNN or BBC is turned on I see gun and knife wielding ‘kids’ running across streets littered with empty tear gas shells, scraps, papers, knickknacks etc. That scene tells us a story.

It’s the story of us trying to find paradise within a bubble. After incisive analysis by so many people everyone came to the same conclusion. Man’s occupation involves a healthy dose of self-doubt yet with each passing day the barrier fades. Children now are accustomed to the word ‘war’, has been used to seeing people drop dead like flies, the numerous weapons designed to eliminate rather than save lives. Nothing is surprising anymore. As they say, we all have the power to lighten up a darkened room....but can they explain how do we get the matches? Is it hope that we need or survival skills? Maybe we need to let go and let someone else hold the candle. We’re too afraid to face reality while we cannot fall back on acerbic situations just to fake acceptance that the solution is utopian.
In some odd way war integrates all people to form some sort of a silent bond. The image of two survivors of varied ethnicities hugging each other is another way of needing acceptance. Paradise is a place where we are accepted for who we are and not who we pretend to be. We all can take off our masks and metamorphose into imperfect beings. Around the globe there are some people who are still trying to create some sort of a mini paradise even though they know it’s pointless. That shows the willingness to change lives, situations, fate itself. In every human being there is a small globule of personal happiness which cannot be destroyed by wars or hatred. That shred of happiness forms our lives, succeeds in building a foundation which can lay forth countless variations of happiness. We all need that happiness, that chance to smile, that chance to survive and see that paradise isn’t lost....its simply in front of us.

SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES—Its time to move on

Time flies quickly; a few years ago people started communicating by using the social networking methods. It was developed by the end of the 1990s, using wired gadgets such as telephones or ham radios. Today, the internet has reshaped our world beyond our imagination.

Even before the Internet, social networking existed. In a nutshell, social networking is when a person uses already existing contacts to meet new people as potential social or business links. Such links, in turn, will help expand future connections. It saves time. In our busy lives, making time to schedule face to face meetings doesn't fit into our schedules. We can "catch up with one another" as time permits.

Basically, about one to two million accounts sign on everyday. There are about a hundred thousand users. It also has become a very good source of information. These websites help us interact with people from remote places.

People born after 1990, who were just five-years-old or younger when the use of Internet became mainstream in 1995, have grown up in a world dominated by online social networks such as Facebook and MySpace. Many people today cannot remember a world without the Internet, it may be “quite different for teens and children who cannot imagine a world where you can't go online to talk and apply the same principles to real-world interpersonal communications, mostly to a dysfunctional outcome.

In current position, there are literally thousands of social networking sites available on Internet. The World now spends over 110 billion minutes on social networks and blog sites. This equates to 22 percent of all time online or one in every four and half minutes. The most important reason is to get in contact with new people (31%). The second most valued was to keep in touch with their friends (21%), whereas the third was general socializing (14%). A total of 11 different reasons and several sub-reasons were identified.

The interesting element is that most of the social networking activities happen between 6 pm and 10 pm. In other words, Indian online users aren’t using social media during work hours (which is usually an assumed fact). 50.8 percent of the total online population in the Asia-Pacific region visited a social networking site in February 2010, reaching a total of 240.3 million visitors..

The study found Russia to have the world’s most engaged social networking audience, with visitors spending 6.6 hours and viewing 1,307 pages per visitor per month. Brazil is also topping the charts with the highest percentage (86%) of Internet consumers visiting a social network. The popularity of social networking in Brazil is due to the Orkut phenomenon. According to Greenlight Wireless, MySpace is the first social networking site to appear among the top five most highly visited sites by Skweezer's mobile users.

The National School Boards Association reports, that almost 60 percent of students who use social networking, talk about education topics online.
Users of social networking site:

MySpace - 345,130,806
Facebook - 722,434,829

Hi5 -8,491,287

Friendster - 6,896,127

Orkut - 9,396,000

Bebo - 14,368,423

Tagged - 5,100,000

Most of the social networks we included are dominated by the age group 35-44.It’s a bit surprising that not one single site had the age group 18 – 24.Bebo appeals to a much younger audience than the other sites with 44% of its users being aged 17 or less. For MySpace, this number is also large; 33%.

Classmates.com has the largest share of users being aged 65 or more, 8%, and 78% are 35 or older. 64% of Twitter’s users are aged 35 or older. 61% of Facebook’s users are aged 35 or older.

Future in social networking sites as something that depends on technology. If the technology used for the networks changes and becomes even more powerful and full featured, more young people will want to use the networks. This will increase the amount of people on the social sites, and increase revenue for those who own them.
